Spring is in the air! It is time to tackle the spring cleaning and freshen up the house. Of course the best way is to throw open all the windows and let in all the fresh air! But up here in the north it is still chilly in the mornings and evening so the windows only get opened in the afternoon. So the next best thing to freshen up any room is a lovely floral room freshener spray.
But wait, have you ever looked at the ingredients in a commercial air freshener? They are full of nasty chemicals. 1,4-Diclorobenzene, Acetaldehyde, Formaldehyde, and Benzene are just a few.
Yuck!
Thankfully, making your own is so easy and simple! A few simple ingredients and a small spray bottle and you are ready to go. I absolutely love the combination of Ylang Ylang and Lemon for Spring so that is what I have used in the recipe below. Feel free to experiment with othe floral and citrus combinations for spring. Other ideas include lavender, geranium, grapefruit and sweet orange.
Simple Spring Room Freshener Spray
1.5 ounces water
1.5 ounces witch hazel
4-ounce spray bottle
15 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
15 drops Lemon Essential oil

What do you think? Have you ever made your own room freshener spray?
