A birthday boy's breakfast! A sweet way to celebrate his entrance into this world 8 years ago! My pregnancy with him was probably one of my most anxious and yet his birth was definitely my most peaceful. He was born at home in a water pool on a warm summer afternoon after spending the early part of my labor picking raspberries! He is a kind, generous soul with a bold and wild side. He has brought incredible joy into our family.

Summer in the mountains is short yet rich. Today there is just a hint of cooler days in the air. I am ordering books and planning schedules for school days ahead. But we won't be starting school until September because summer in the mountains is too short to waste cooped up doing lessons. Instead we will be soaking in every last drop of golden, summer sweetness over the next few weeks. Then we will be ready to settle in with our beautiful new books!
