I am terrible at staying organized. I mean really terrible. I always think I am going to get organized, I love making lists and schedules, I just have a hard time actually doing it on a regular basis and following them. I start working on something, then I get distracted on something else and before I know it dinnertime rolls around and I have no idea what I am going to make. It doesn’t really work very well. I find that during the busy days on the farm I need to at least stay somewhat organized.
One thing that helps me a lot is having a menu plan so that I know ahead of time what I am going to make and I can prepare parts of the meal the day before or in between other projects throughout the day. It also helps me plan ahead so that we have appropriate leftovers to take with us for lunch on Farmers Market days or other days we are going to be out. For example if I make pizza one night during the week then we can take the leftovers to Farmers Market with us.
During the summer I try to make a lot of quick simple meals that use lots of fresh produce. On markets days I like to use my crockpot so that we have something all ready for dinner as soon as we home tired and hungry. My favorite is beans for tacos, we just add tortillas, cheese and some fresh veggies and we have a delicious meal ready within minutes of walking in the door.
So far I have been doing fairly well at making a weekly menu plan although I would like to work toward doing it monthly instead. I enjoy having fun, colorful planners to help me in my planning and organizational endeavors.
So today I have something really fun for you. I am so excited about these because this is the first time I have made any printables and I think they turned out super cute! Of course they have a colorful fresh produce/farmers market theme, too! I have both a monthly menu planner sheet and weekly one, plus a helpful guide to seasonal produce. The seasonal produce guide is somewhat generic and not all the items will be locally available in every area. These are in PDF format just simply click on the links or images below to download the ones you like. I hope you enjoy them!
